maths problem sums

Q1. Felicia and Janice had an equal amount of money. Everyday, Felicia spends $36 and Janice spent $48. When Janice had spent all her money, Felicia still had $240 left. How much did each of them have at first?

Solution

M1
Using Janice to find:
Amt Diff---$48-$36
                = $12
No. of days---$240/$12
                   = 20
Janice--20(days)x$48
           =$960
Each of them had $960 at first.

M2
Using Felicia to find:
$36x20=$720
$720+$240(Felicia left)=$960
Each of them had $960 at first.

This is some other Questions you could practice!!! =)
